I first became interested in instrumental music as a first grader. The middle school band from the district came to perform for us at an assembly. From there, I was hooked! Fast forward to 6th grade where I chose the saxophone for Band. My curiosity only grew, so I picked up a violin and joined String Orchestra in 7th grade as well. From there, I never looked back!

As a young man, music helped build my confidence. It was the first time in my life where I felt like I was talented. It gave me focus, and was an excellent movitator for me. I wanted to provide that same opportunity to the next generation of students; who may also feel like they're looking for something to ignite their passion. 

I subsciribe to the John Dewey philosphy of the lifelong learner. Not only are we teaching our students the skills they need to navigate the world, but we're also teaching them to posses an everlasting curiousity about that world. They learn so much about themselves in the process. In turn, they have the tools to become effective leaders and agents of positive change in their respective communities and beyond.

I also believe that they may not care about what you know until they know that you care. Developing relationships is at the heart and soul of what we do.
